She grew up in Austria, learned to love in Barcelona and put down roots in Bad Wiessee in Bavaria. For decades Karin Sommer has been exploring with clients the possibilities that the body can contribute to well-being and personal development. For some years now, it is more and more the particularly sensitive people who find their way to her. For them she writes her blog and also in her work as a seminar leader of an educational company it is the sensitive, creative people, the ones with the strange life stories, who are especially close to her heart.
What drives me?
I am moved by the desire for diversity, in nature as well as in society. Just as monoculture – spruce forests hurt my eyes, the egalitarianism among people bothers me. The illusion that we all grow up under the same conditions and only need to make more effort to become rich and beautiful, just like the pressure to finally get a well-paid job, a handsome partner, two children, dog and house. I’m driven by the search for beauty where I can’t see it right away. I am inspired by the vision that especially sensitive people are seen in their beauty and belong to a colorful society in their otherness. As an incredible luxury, I enjoy the moments in which I am allowed to put my thoughts into words in my comfortably warm living room.
