A Journey Through Self-Discovery and Art
Celeste Delilah Husinec, a young artist from the International Munich Art Lab (IMAl), explores her identity and artistic expression through the poetry of transformation, viewing art not just as a form of expression, but as a way of life. “Becoming an artist and author is for me a compulsion, a longing,” explains Celeste, whose works are characterized by a deep connection to her own story.
From Darkness to Light
Growing up in a world that initially did not accept her, Celeste found refuge in art, a medium to explore and express her own truths. “I don’t believe in an inner essence of myself; for me, my feelings are always tied to my philosophy,” she reflects on her creative process.
Art as a Bridge
Celeste sees her art as an invitation, a bridge to others. Through her works, she wishes not only to share her own story but also to create a space for dialogue and understanding. “My art is for me what my smile is for all the strangers on the street who react to me with astonishment, disgust, or hatred,” she elaborates.
The Quest for Authenticity
At the core of her work is the endeavor to live and express authenticity. Celeste challenges societal norms and stereotypes, seeking ways to define her identity beyond traditional gender boundaries. “I could subject myself to the chains of gender performance as a trans person… I break the chains,” she bravely declares.
A Future Full of Possibilities
Looking towards the future, Celeste aims to further develop her artistic practice and express it more radically. Her ambitions are diverse: from poetry to ceramics to fashion, she wants to express her voice in various mediums while remaining authentic. “I want to learn a lot, become more eloquent, recite poems, and publish my first books,” she says confidently.
Celeste is just at the beginning of her artistic journey. Yet, through her profound engagement with identity, society, and self-expression, she has already found a remarkable voice in the art world. With each work, she invites us to join her on a journey of transformation and understanding.
